FAMIS and Related Apps Updates

This update summarizes key FAMIS support activities, system updates, and upcoming changes affecting processing and user support.

AssurePay

  • The release of Version 4.19.3 included changing the default sort and updates to the email notifications for approvals.
  • We are continuing the cleanup / archiving of batches from a pool of nearly 10,000 since we started using AssurePay three years ago. As this volume is causing issues (e.g., timeouts during autoimport, failed imports, etc.), we are archiving all batches older than 18 months.
    • Note: If a replacement check is needed from an archived batch, please create a manual check and enter it into FAMIS as a replacement check (Screen 191).

Laserfiche

  • We have completed renaming Concur to Travelandexpense.

Emburse

  • Initiating pilot testing (by TAMU Shared Services) on Non-Travel Employee Reimbursements. Members will be able to opt in after the pilot.

AP Contact for ACH / Check Issues

  • Please identify and share your contact! We have only heard from a few members.
  • Send contact info with request to famishelp@tamus.edu.
  • Shared email accounts are preferred, if available.
  • These contacts can be seen on the FAMIS Contacts page by selecting AP Contact as the Contact type.

    High Radius-Autonomous Receivables

    • No new updates. We are continuing the second implementation in the build phase.

Radiant RFID (Asset Inventory / Tracking)

    • Testing and work continue on the Radiant integration, alongside Asset Management development in FAMISweb.
    • We are working on the API in our Test environment.

    E-Office Training

    • Training was held on April 20, 2026.
    • All Security Administrators and E-Office Managers and Delegates were included in the invitation.

    FAMIS

    • Customer Management: We have identified issues with FAMIS Screen 621, Transfer Invoice to New Customer, as we develop the new FAMISweb application. Specifically, customer transfers are not being reflected accurately in FAMISweb due to the structure of the FAMIS AR database.
      • Discussion on this item, to deprecate the screen with multiple actions needed to update a customer record, was only broached at a high level and also surfaced potential issues with FAMIS Screen 608. Further discussion will be scheduled.
    • Batch Open / Close: FAMIS has been experiencing issues with batch programs (FRS Screens 030, 130 and 630 and FFX Screen 510) and the automated batches that open with documents, which are locking the process and causing errors (sometimes on the open process, at other times on the closing process).
    • Fiscal Year-End Training: Scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM.  A Teams meeting invite will be shared later this summer.

    FAMISweb Development

    • Release 1.7 was launched on May 7, 2026.
      • See FAMISweb Release 1.7 Notes for an overview of the new pages and enhancements.
      • Release 1.8 is scheduled for June 4, 2026.
    • Check out the FAMISweb page for details, release notes on the latest releases and preview lists of new functions coming soon.
    • Please encourage your users to begin using FAMISweb.

    SEA Projects

    • Now live! View a list of the top SEA / FAMIS projects that involve a system-wide impact.

    Year-End Processing Change

    • We are planning to shut down FAMIS processing at noon on the last day of the fiscal year (Thursday, September 3, 2026). The timing of the shutdown:
      • Allows FAMIS staff to begin the year-end processing earlier and complete processing at a reasonable time,
      • Is completed at a time when functional users are more available for validating, testing and troubleshooting, and
      • Allows for reporting to be made available by the Monday following the year-end close (closing on Friday will push updated reports out to the following Tuesday).
    • The team is working on a plan to have FAMIS and related apps in inquiry-only mode during this time.
