New FAMIS Update Request and Feature Request Processes

The new FAMIS Update Request and Feature Request processes officially launch on September 1, 2025. The FAMIS Change Enhancement process has been divided into two distinct paths to enhance transparency, tracking and collaboration throughout the system.

Update Request

The FAMIS Update Request is for routine changes that require member approval, such as:

  • Adding an object code
  • Updating ProdCards
  • Updating dictionary values
  • Updating work study accounts

Feature Request

The FAMIS Feature Request is for larger enhancements that will undergo thorough review and prioritization, including:

  • Adding new features such as a new screen, report or process
  • Changing screen layouts
  • Updating existing programs or reports

Information Sessions

To help users get started, FAMIS Services is offering two optional online “office hours” sessions for users to preview the changes and ask questions:

  • Wednesday, August 27; 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM (Join Teams meeting)
  • Thursday, September 4; 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM (Join Teams meeting)

Participation and feedback are key to making this transition successful. FAMIS Services looks forward to working with users in this improved process.
