Biannual Workday Releases
Workday releases new features and functionality enhancements twice a year in March and September. In addition to listing the new features below, if further information is needed, a video is also provided on one or more of the new features listed. This video will be available the week prior to the release going into production.

User Experience
The Workday Menu now groups your Apps into categories*. Additionally, use the new Saved feature to locate all of your saved items and favorites in a centralized location.

Absence
New Request Absence and Manage Absence apps have replaced the Time Off and Absence apps on the Workday Menu. Managing absence functionality is enhanced with new calendar features and navigation changes for employees, managers and support roles.
Payroll
The Assign Costing Allocations business process has an updated user interface for Cost Criteria. Users can more easily add costing, view existing costing and review costing history.
Employees can now edit Federal and State/Local withholdings directly from within their Benefits and Pay Hub
Users can now search for the Pay Period within prompts using the month, year, or specific date for which they need information.
New prompt recommendations are available in the Add Payroll Input and Run Pay Calculation tasks. These pre-populated recommendations can improve data entry accuracy and efficiency.
New Payroll Reports are available to Payroll Partners and Tax Compliance Partners:
- “Payroll Pay Group Summary” is a high-level summary of Workers, Results, Gross Pay and Net Pay based on Pay Group Details and Pay Periods
- “Payroll Pay Component Summary” is a high-level summary of Workers, Results, Result Lines, and Result Line Amounts for Pay Components based on Pay Group Details and Pay Periods
Staffing
Service Dates are now Effective dated. This means users will be required to use an Effective Date when editing the Time Off Service Date during a Hire event. Users can also now see historical data for service dates on the Employee’s Worker profile
The enhanced user interface for Job Change now extends to correcting actions. This new layout displays when you correct a Change Job event if a Change Job template was used.
Multiple updates impact Submit Resignation. These enhancements include user interface changes, updated field names and access to the task from the search bar.
Talent
Additional Reviewers and Additional Managers are now able to print their portion of the Employee’s performance review.
Time
Time Requests replaces the Request Overtime task used to record and request approval of overtime hours.
