Workday Core Concepts for Security Roles

The purpose of this course is to provide you with an introduction to Workday from the perspective of an HR, Payroll, and Benefits professional who supports Employees and Retirees. You will learn fundamental Workday principles and basic navigation used to complete tasks and run reports that are central to supporting the organizations for which you are responsible.
The learning objectives for this course are…

  • Recall the foundational components of Workday
  • Define and use common Workday vocabulary
  • Identify Security Role(s) and explain Security Roles in Workday
  • Describe the functions of Supervisory Organizations in Workday
  • Relate Workday business processes to your job responsibilities
  • Navigate your Workday Inbox to complete assigned tasks
  • Recall three different ways to initiate a business process in Workday

This is not a required course but highly recommended for all persons with security roles who will use Workday. The course should take no longer than 1 hour to complete depending on the pace of the learner. This course is developed by IT Training and Development, a department within the A&M System Office of Information Technology.
