What do I do if a pay frequency change causes an Employee’s benefits to drop?

This happens because the person has lost eligibility for the plan.

Check the benefit eligibility for the Employee and verify they are no longer eligible for the dropped plan.  You can do this by going to the Employees Related Actions > Benefits > View Benefit Eligibility.  You can also verify by running the “Medical Plan Discrepancies” Report for this UIN.

If the Employee is no longer eligible for Basic Life, check their Benefits Eligibility Questions to see if they answered that they are “certified other.” If so, the Employee may need to modify their answers to the questions.

If the Employee is no longer eligible for a medical plan, trigger a “Medical Change Only” benefit event dated the 1st of the current month. This will allow them to be enrolled into the correct plan. THEN, do a manual “Pay Frequency Change” benefit event with the effective date of the Job Change.  This should allow the Employee to switch pay frequencies without the plan being dropped.
