Course Types

There are four different course types defined in TrainTraq. They are:

Course Type Definition
Online This course type is used for courses that can be taken online.

Most online courses in TrainTraq are hosted in TrainTraq and automatically record a completion in TrainTraq when the user finishes the course. However, there are a few online courses with content that resides on an external server. For externally hosted courses, completions may need to be recorded manually.

In Classroom (Legacy) This course type is for in-classroom courses that are listed in TrainTraq but do not currently allow registration via TrainTraq.

To register for an In-Classroom (Legacy) course, please follow the instructions included in the course description. If there are no instructions, please contact the course owner.

Completions of In Classroom (Legacy) courses must be recorded manually by someone with the Training Admin, Workstation Processor or Dept Processor role.

In Classroom This course type is used to designate classroom courses for which employees can enroll through TrainTraq. After a section of an In Classroom course is offered, the node Registrar or the section Instructor updates the section roster to indicate which enrollees completed the course.
Other This course type is used for atypical course listings. For example, “Other” is sometimes used to denote online courses that are no longer available in TrainTraq. To take an “Other” course, follow the instructions in the course description.
