BusinessObjects users with Financial universe access should avoid use of the Strategy attributes between January 2nd, 2023 and January 9th, 2023.
In the Financial Account Transaction Detail and Financial SL-SA Account Summary universes, there is a folder called “Strategy” containing attributes like strategy, goal, and objective. In the past, when you used these attributes in a query, you were automatically prompted to enter an appropriation year when you ran the report. This allowed you to summarize information by the current fiscal year’s strategy, or by a prior fiscal year’s strategy. But the drawback was that the prompt for appropriation year prevented you from scheduling these reports.
After receiving feedback from financial reporting stakeholders, a change is being made to remove the appropriation year prompt, and instead to always return strategy attributes as-of the fiscal year you’re querying. For example, if you run a report of transactions for fiscal year 2023, and include the strategy code in your report, the codes will represent the 2023 strategy. If you run that same report for fiscal year 2022, the strategy codes will represent the 2022 strategy.
As we implement this change, we ask BusinessObjects financial reporting users to avoid use of these attributes between January 2nd, 2023 and January 9th, 2023.
