Updating UIN Information

There are times when the identity information associated with a UIN may need to be updated. For example, a student may have a name change or missing/incorrect may need to be add.

To update UIN information, first search for the individual by entering the person’s name, date of birth, and SSN, if available. Searching, instead of entering the UIN directly, will serve as a double-check that there is only one UIN assigned to this person.

Review each suggested match closely to ensure that you select the individual whose information you need to update.

Employees and contingent workers must have their personal information updated in Workday, not UIN Manager.

Updating a UIN with new information is a very important activity that will have important negative consequences if done incorrectly. Be sure you have the correct information on-hand and are working with the correct UIN.

Select the right person’s record and click the button to overwrite the existing UIN’s data with the new data you entered.

Re-enter the new, correct information for the individual EXACTLY as you entered it the first time. When you save the record again, the UIN record will be updated.
