Issues with Original Hire Date

The TRS Team integration provides an original hire date on the ED 40 (Position) reporting file.   This date should be the person’s original hire date with that RE (Reporting Entity).

At this time that data element cannot be easily identified by the TRS Team integration.  This is primarily problematic when an employee transfers between A&M System members.

Issues with this date may result in errors such as Error 484 – RE payment for New Member Contribution is not due for this employee.

Workaround:

  • Validate that the Original Hire date is correct for the employee position record.
  • If the Original Hire date is incorrect, enter an ED45 record to correct the original hire date.
  • If the Original Hire date is correct, you may need to change the contribution type on the RP record from TRS90 to regular TRS (or visa versa).
