TRS Total Compensation – September 2019

Since the launch of TRS Team in September of 2017, the TRS Team RP (payroll) file/report has always contained a data field to report total gross compensation. Prior to September 2019, the A&M System has reported this amount as the same amount as the employee’s eligible TRS compensation.

Based on Recent guidance from TRS administration, this amount should be total compensation, inclusive of allowances and other payments that may not be TRS eligible.

Effective with the September 2019 report, the A&M System TRS team integration will populate the data field Total Gross Compensation with all payroll paid to that employee.

This change will not impact the amount due to TRS or have any other financial impacts.

The image below is taken from the TRS Higher Education reporting manual.  It defines the difference between these two amounts.
