How does TRS TEAM Determine TRS Creditable Compensation?

TRS Updates regarding Creditable Compensation

TRS Update – January 2019

Effective with the 09/2019 Transmission, TRS TEAM will be reliant on the Earning Codes stored on Pay History to make the determination of whether Salary is TRS Eligible.   Prior to the 09/2019 Transmission, non-TRS Eligible Earning Codes such as cell phone allowances were skipped.   All Salary information is now sent to TRS and grouped into TRS Eligible or non-TRS Eligible Salary fields.

Starting with the January 2018 pay periods, the TRS TEAM process began using Workday’s Earning Codes to determine whether compensation is TRS Creditable. To ensure that employees are properly credited with TRS, please ensure they are paid on the appropriate Earning Code(s). This is particularly important in less common situations such as when an employee works in a second position, etc.

We are currently working on documentation of all the Workday Earning Codes and will distribute it to each Workstation soon.

More information on TRS Creditable Compensation can be found on the TRS web site: https://www.trs.texas.gov/Pages/re_creditable_compensation.aspx
