Adding Concur RSS Feed to Internet Explorer 11 or Mozilla Firefox

Microsoft Internet Explorer has a couple of different options, based on user experience, to use RSS Feeds within the browser. To add the Concur RSS Feed to Internet Explorer 11, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to https://it.tamus.edu/concur/feed/
  2. In the yellow box at the top of the page, you will see Subscribe to the this feed. Click there.
  3. A dialog box will pop up. You will have the option to add the RSS Feeds folder to your Favorites Bar. This is not required, but you may do so if you prefer the folder to be visible there.
  4. Click Subscribe.

To view the feed, you click the Star button on the upper right-hand side of the window. Click on Feeds and you will see Concur underneath there. Any time you wish to view the feed, you can click there.

The process is very similar for Mozilla Firefox users:

  1. Navigate to https://it.tamus.edu/concur/feed/
  2. In the yellow box at the top of the page click on Subscribe Now.
  3. Click Subscribe.

In the Concur folder that is created, you can access each story individually.

***Note: The RSS Feed does not work with Google Chrome, alone. There are third-party extensions that can be installed into the browser to view them, however.***

Adding Concur RSS Feed to Outlook 2010 and 2013

Microsoft Outlook 2010 and 2013 contain an easy way to organize and view multiple RSS Feeds. In fact, in your copy of Outlook, you should see an ‘RSS Feeds’ folder beneath your ‘Outbox’ folder. You can add the Concur RSS Feed to your Outlook by following these instructions:

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. Click Account Settings, and then on the drop-down menu, click Account Settings.
  3. Click on the RSS Feeds tab, and then click New.
  4. In the New RSS Feed dialog box, type or copy the following URL: https://it.tamus.edu/concur/feed/
  5. Leave the other settings the same and click Add.
  6. Click OK.

You should now have a folder titled Concur in the RSS Feeds folder in your Outlook. Any time a new blog post is created, the initial paragraph and a link to the story will be included in a message in that folder.
