HRConnect is implemented with employees’ security in mind. This topic discusses some of the steps that have been taken to secure the application.
Secure Data Channels
The application uses SSL to encrypt data as it moves from Texas A&M University System’s web server(s) to clients’ browsers.
Logging On
Users log on using the Texas A&M University System’s SSO application. See the SSO documentation for more information regarding this application.
Roles
The HRConnect application’s authorization is role-based, meaning that its users can only perform functions that they’ve been explicitly authorized to use or are entitled to because of their employment status.
If required, a user can be granted multiple roles; however, only the user’s current role is considered when access is granted to system functions. Administrative roles are granted at the Workstation.

Granting Roles
Only authorized SSO users can grant access to the HRConnect application.
For roles like central administrator and system administrator, a request must be made to the A&M System Offices’ System Enterprise Applications department.
