This job aid outlines the process for a Background Check Partner to run the background check business process and document outcomes in Workday.

Prerequisites

The individual for which you would like to run a background check must be an existing Employee in Workday.

Important Information

The Start Background Check business process can be initiated as a standalone process by the Background Check Partner from an Employee’s Worker profile.

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to the Employee’s Worker Profile. From the Actions menu select Personal Data > Start Background Check.
  2. Select the Name of the background check package you use at your member from the drop down values provided. Select Submit.

Navigate to the Up Next tab for the next steps in the process.

If you are using Sterling, follow the steps provided below. Otherwise, skip to the next section on Background Check Status.

Sterling Background Check Bill code (Sterling Users)

Enter the bill code in the text box provided and select Submit.

Background Check Status

This is the inbox task you will receive to note the results of the background check.

  1. Enter the following information
    • Status Date. Date results were received
    • Status (e.g. Pass, Did Not Pass)
  2. Enter comments as needed and select Submit.

This completes the Start Background Check business process.
