This job aid outlines the process for a Project Hierarchy Manager to create a new project hierarchy in Workday.

Important Information

  • A project hierarchy is a Workday organization hierarchy that defines parent and child relationships between projects. It can be used to group related projects and configure processes and roles.
  • Project hierarchies were initially created in Workday to organize projects based on the share mode chosen within TimeTraq (not shared, shared across Workstation, shared across adloc or shared across adloc and sub-adlocs).

Getting Started

  1. Search for the Create Project Hierarchy task in the Search Bar and select it.The search bar with the Create Project Hi typed and the Create Project Hierarchy task appearing
  2. On the Create Project Hierarchy page, complete the following fields:
    • Project Hierarchy Name.
    • Parent. This is the existing project hierarchy that your new hierarchy will fall under. This will establish the parent-child relationship.The Create Project Hierarchy page emphasizing the project hierarchy name and parent fields
  1. Select Submit.

This completes the Create Project Hierarchy process.
