The easiest two-factor authentication method for most people is their office phone because they generally work at their desk. The convenience, availability and reliability of a landline phone makes it an easy default choice. It is also a practical idea to enroll the office phone first as a stand-by in case there are technical issues with a mobile phone or tablet.
Note that the Passcode feature is not available with a landline.
Enrolling a landline
If this is your first device to enroll, you will be prompted with the Duo set-up wizard.
If you are enrolling a landline as an additional device, click the gray “Manage devices” button. After logging in with Duo, click the blue “Enroll another device” button.
Click the ‘Landline’ radio button then the green “Continue” button.
Enter the 10-digit phone number of the landline, verify the accuracy then press the green “Continue” button.
If this is your first device, you will see a screen similar to the one below. If this is an additional device, you will see a list of all of your enrolled devices.
