Lori Beaty is Vice President of Finance & Administration/Chief Financial Officer at Tarleton State University. She started her higher education career as a staff accountant in The Texas A&M University System and brings the perspective of having worked in the financial systems at a very detailed level and using data for high-level financial decisions.
The A&M System workforce has endured a significant amount of change in systems over the last several years. With the commitment to improve reporting and eliminate the risk of loss of technical support, staying with FAMIS allows improvements without additional stress on the workforce.
As the project progresses and the project team moves into the modernization and enhancement phase, Ms. Beaty looks forward to more automation and dashboards.
Progress is hard to see right now because so much is happening behind the scenes, but the progress is there, especially despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Beaty would want to tell the stakeholders to be patient; great things are coming!
