Dr. Cynthia Carter-Horn is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU). She was recommended for this committee when she was the CFO at Texas A&M-Central Texas. Dr. Carter-Horn was asked to continue to serve by communicating updates with the Financial Management Services team and others who will be impacted by the replatforming, serving as their change champion and bringing back ideas to the group to ensure they have a product that is truly functional across many institutions.
Dr. Carter-Horn supported the decision to move forward with FAMIS modernization over some of the other options that the A&M System considered based on the options provided. It made more sense to replatform.
As the project progresses and the project team is able to move into the modernization and enhancement phase, Dr. Carter-Horn looks forward to engaging her divisional team in the process, giving them the opportunity to be hands-on and provide critical feedback.
The working teams are making good progress to date based on what is being seen and heard in the meetings. Despite COVID-19, the team is moving forward, which is truly appreciated. Dr. Carter-Horn wants the stakeholders of the Financial applications to know that she feels the cost savings between all options selected, the benefits of this replatforming and the transition of the application to newer technology mediums will better serve the A&M System.
