There are three (3) separate manager roles or types.
The first is the Approval manager. This is the manager who actually authorizes the use of leave by the employee. These managers have full inquiry rights to all employees they manage.
A second type of manager is an Information Only manager. These employees are only provided an e-mail message indicating that an employee has requested to use leave. The dates, time and type of leave is included in the message. These managers do not have any other inquiry rights.
The final type of manager is a Reader manager. This manager does not approve leave and does not receive any e-mail notification relative to leave requests. This manager does have full inquiry rights for all of the employees assigned to this manager. This type of manager is useful for area payroll supervisors who need to reconcile payroll authorization reports with leave records.
