[{"id":7489,"date":"2026-07-17T10:06:52","date_gmt":"2026-07-17T15:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/it.tamus.edu\/famis\/?post_type=news&#038;p=7489"},"modified":"2026-07-17T10:06:53","modified_gmt":"2026-07-17T15:06:53","slug":"famis-and-related-apps-updates-5","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/it.tamus.edu\/famis\/news\/famis-and-related-apps-updates-5\/","title":{"rendered":"FAMIS and Related Apps Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This update of items recently shared at the July 9, 2026, APPC meeting summarizes key FAMIS support activities, system updates and upcoming changes affecting processing and user support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Year-End_Processing_Change\"><\/span>Year-End Processing Change<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">We will shut down FAMIS processing at noon (12:00 PM) on the last day of the fiscal year (<strong>Thursday, September 3, 2026<\/strong>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">We are planning to have FAMIS and related apps in <em>inquiry-only mode<\/em> during this time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">More information is available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/it.tamus.edu\/famis\/news\/famis-fy2026-year-end-processing-and-timing-change\/\">FY 2026 Year-End Processing and Timing Change update post<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"High_Radius-Autonomous_Receivables\"><\/span>High Radius-Autonomous Receivables<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">This is live in FAMIS Production as of late June for TEES, AgriLife Research, AgriLife Extension, Tarleton and TTI.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Radiant_RFID_Asset_Management_and_Tracking_Software\"><\/span>Radiant RFID (Asset Management and Tracking Software)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">On July 1, 2026, a year-to-date file was loaded into FAMIS to update asset and room information. The initial load resulted in 40,187 updates to asset and room records.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">FAMIS now sends daily update files to maintain synchronization between systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">FAMIS currently returns files containing the current room and asset location data to Radiant, enabling ongoing alignment of location and asset information across both platforms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">The daily exchange process continues to maintain accurate, up-to-date room and asset records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"FAMIS\"><\/span>FAMIS<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">Fiscal year-end training is scheduled for <strong>Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM<\/strong>. A Microsoft Teams meeting invite will be sent later this summer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">Due to how the payroll posting dates align in October, we may need to back up the PCT lockout period by a few days. PCTs will still be created and approved, but will not be posted until November.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"FAMISweb\"><\/span>FAMIS<em>web<\/em><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\">Release 1.9 was launched on July 2, 2026. This page presents important account details in a clear, easy\u2011to\u2011scan format and serves as a central point for reviewing bank account activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-right:30px;margin-left:30px\"><strong>Bank transactions<\/strong>: The new Bank transactions page allows users to view and review transaction history for bank accounts. Users can navigate directly from account information into transaction details, making it easier to understand activity without searching again or switching contexts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Payables<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-right:30px;margin-left:30px\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>My Vendors<\/strong>: The My Vendors page introduces a new way to view vendors associated with your My Accounts lists. This page makes it easier to review vendor activity, filter results, and understand vendor relationships tied to your accounts in one place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Voucher search<\/strong>: A new Voucher search page lets users search for vouchers by multiple criteria, including voucher, PO, vendor, and account information. Results are presented in a clear grid view, with the ability to review line items for each voucher, improving visibility into payables activity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Enhancements\"><\/span>Enhancements<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Asset Management<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-right:30px;margin-left:30px\"><strong>Asset management (fixed asset) improvements<\/strong>: Updates to Asset management pages improve how overflow and detailed information is displayed, providing a clearer view of asset data and supporting easier review of asset records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Account Oversight<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\"><strong>Interconnected navigation<\/strong>: Bank-related pages now include improved linking between account views and transaction details, allowing users to move seamlessly between high\u2011level summaries and detailed activity without reentering search criteria. Existing pages, such as Account search, that reference bank information have been updated to direct users to the newly released Bank overview page, making navigation across <strong>FAMIS<\/strong><em>web<\/em> seamless.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Search_Navigation_and_General_Improvements_and_Refinements\"><\/span>Search, Navigation and General Improvements and Refinements<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\"><strong>Multi<\/strong><strong>campus search enhancements<\/strong>: Search behavior has been improved to better support multicampus parameters, giving users more control over how results are filtered and displayed. Additional improvements will be coming in future releases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\"><strong>Improved filtering and results<\/strong>: Updates to filters, including date and cycle handling, deliver more reliable, intuitive search results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\"><strong>Improved movement between records<\/strong>: Additional linking and navigation enhancements make it easier to move between related records, such as accounts, vendors and transactions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"margin-left:30px\"><strong>Selector updates \u2013 dropdowns<\/strong>: Improvements continue to the dropdown selectors to refine user interactions with selection fields. This approach gives critical staff time to complete processing, resolve issues during normal business hours and be ready to support users the next business day. Users will also have access on Friday morning to validate closing activity and begin FY2027 and Month 13 processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Friday closure was given thorough and lengthy consideration. Specifically, customer transfers are not being reflected accurately in <strong>FAMIS<\/strong><em>web <\/em>due to the structure of the FAMIS AR database.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Discussion on this item, to deprecate the screen with multiple actions needed to update a customer record, was only broached at a high level and also surfaced potential issues with FAMIS Screen 608.
