Have you installed Hummingbird 15 yet? December 6 is 2 days away!
On December 6, 2019 the A&M System will require TLS 1.1 or higher level of encryption to access FAMIS via the mainframe TN 3270 connections.
Hummingbird users must upgrade / install Hummingbird 15 (Open Text Host Explorer) to connect the mainframe beginning December 6.
To see which version of Hummingbird you are using open a FAMIS session window and do the following:
- Click “Help”
- Click “About”
A window will be displayed showing your current version of Hummingbird. If this version is not 15.1 or higher, you will need upgrade your software.

Hummingbird 15 (Host Explorer Version 15) can also be downloaded from the Texas A&M Software Center free of charge. If you are unable to download a copy through the Software Center, contact FAMISHelp@tamus.edu for assistance.

- Login using your TAMU NetID
- Follow the ordering instructions
- You will be provided a link to download the software
