We will have Company for each system member. A company in Workday is a costing organization. Company drives financials, reporting, transactions and taxing. Each system member will be its own Company in Workday. Workers are members of a Company, but are hired into Supervisory Organizations within the company.
|Contingent Worker||A worker who is not a TAMUS employee and not paid via Workday payroll. The eponymous BP is used to add non-Workday paid employee to Workday. (Contingent Workers are still added because they can manage Supervisory Organizations, hold academic appointments, and/or hold a role in a BP).||No single term. |Contingent Worker Type||A sub-category of the Contingent Worker group; includes types like contractor or consultant, to categorize and track contingent workers in an organization.||No single term. A related concept was Employee Status|
|Costing allocation||Overrides default cost centers assigned to a position. Indicates the cost center to which a worker’s expenses (including payroll expenses) are charged. A cost center is defined as MemberID-SLAccount-SAAccount. In Workday this account split is defined as percentage per cost center and must add to 100% for all allocations.||Budget line or Source line|
|Coverage Type||Groupings of benefit plans (Health, FSA, Insurance, Retirement, Additional Benefits, pet insurance, etc.)|
|Employee Type||User-defined type assigned to each employee when the employee is hired (e.g., staff, student, faculty); the primary method of categorizing employees. |Evergreen Requisition||Positions that hire throughout the year.||Similar to a pool position used today. Most often used for student part time or faculty positions.|

|Job Classification (or Job Classification Group)||Required for many kinds of job-related regulatory reporting and can be used to categorize job profiles; the means by which individual job classifications are grouped and maintained.||No single term. |Job Profile||Defines generic features and characteristics (such as pay rate type, and competencies and proficiencies) of a job and of a position that uses that profile.||No single term. |Job Title||The title of the worker in their assigned job; defaults from the Job Title field or Job Profile Name field.||Title Description - the position title of a PIN.|

|Location||The geographic location (city) of the work address for the employee.|

Open Position - a Position that is not occupied by a worker, and is available to be filled at a designated time.
Closes a position; remove it from the headcount. Once a position is closed, it cannot be reopened.

|Preferred Name||Worker's Preferred Name. Workday will allow the worker to specified a Preferred Name if it differs from their Legal Name||N/A|
|Supervisory Organization||The core foundational structure that groups workers into a management hierarchy; documents the reporting structure. All workers must be hired into a Supervisory Organization.||An Adloc can be assigned to more than one Supervisory Organization, but each Supervisory Organization can only have one associated Adloc. The Adloc will be maintained in FAMIS and will be used to associate the Supervisory Organization to a department code.|
|Worker Type||Assigned to each position and used on job requisitions; distinguishes between employee or Contingent Worker. There can also be several user-defined types of contingent workers. Compensation, benefits, and staffing events are tied to the worker type.||No single term. A related concept is Employee Status.
