New

  • National Student Clearing House Notification

    • Nick McLarty sent the CIOs and CISOs the following email last week (excerpt below); given the system’s notification to DIR, individual members are not required to submit notifications to DIR related to the NSC matter; this applies only to universities and not agencies
    • Your registrar may have recently received an email from the National Student Clearinghouse notifying you of a cybersecurity issue that affects certain personal data maintained by the Clearinghouse on behalf of your organization.  At this point, we are assuming each member is in a “suspected data exposure” state.  We will submit one DIR incident report notification on behalf of the system.  No further action by individual members is needed at this time.  If your registrar receives a subsequent notification from the Clearinghouse, please notify the System Offices and initiate a separate DIR incident report if warranted.
