At times, UIN data on file with UIN Manager may need to be updated. For example, a student may have a name change or missing/incorrect may need to be updated.
Note that employees and contingent workers who are on file in Workday must have their personal information updated in Workday, not UIN Manager.
To update a UIN, first search for the individual by entering the person’s name, SSN, if known, date of birth, and gender.
UIN Manager will respond with one or more suggested matches. Review each suggested match closely to ensure that you select the individual whose information you need to update.
Select the right person’s record and click the button to overwrite the existing UIN’s data with the new data you entered.
Updating a UIN with new information is a very important activity that will have important negative consequences if done incorrectly. Be sure you have the correct information on-hand and are working with the correct pre-existing UIN.
Re-enter the new, correct information for the individual EXACTLY as you entered it the first time. When you save the record again, the UIN record will be updated.
