System Offices Management in coordination with Member CFOs has reached a decision concerning the renewal of the Mobius/DDRINT Report Repository Contract for the Texas A&M University System. The contract could not be negotiated to the satisfaction of the System/Members. As a result, the current Mobius/DDRINT contract ends on 8/31/18.
In anticipation of the possibility that the contract would end, FAMIS Services and other IT groups at System Offices have been working hard on a viable substitute for DDRINT, which will be a Laserfiche solution. We have been working to ease the transition from DDRINT by streamlining security setups (these require either NetID or AgNetID), organizing reports in folders and other features. We will convert/setup access for all current report recipients who HAVE a NetID or AgNetID in the next few days, with an expectation of going live on Laserfiche sometime mid-week next week.
For our report recipients who do NOT have a NetID or AgNetID, we will send out instructions SOON! to help with the steps of claiming your NetID/AgNetID.
We will send out SOON! – web-site links, documentation and other helpful tools to assist in this transition.
Note: Initially we will lose the ability to email report notices to users, but this is definitely on our list of features we want to pursue once the product transition is complete.
We have currently completed the transfer of 2 years’ worth of reports from DDRINT to Laserfiche, and continue to transfer historical reports at this time. This means the reports for the past 2 years that you can view in DDRINT are already available in Laserfiche. We’re working on additional lists of critical reports which require the full 1500 days’ worth of history, and will transfer those as well.
Additionally, we continue to work on improvements to our solution and expect to continue that process over time. There are some great features available in Laserfiche such as bookmarking, favorites and more. So we hope over time this will prove to be a great solution going forward.
The FAMIS Security team here at System Offices in coordination with FAMIS Help will do all we can to keep you informed during this transition, so please monitor your email as we will be working through this very quickly over the next few days. We’re sure there are many questions, but please give us a couple of days to get some information posted on the web (currently drafted) and hopefully the information we post will help with some of your questions.
